Outdoor Wellbeing NZ: Movement, Mindfulness & Nature Combined

Writer: jessica campbelljessica campbell

I know this might sound a little different from your usual yoga or Pilates class, so I wanted to take a moment to share what Outdoor Wellbeing NZ is all about and what you can expect. This project has been a dream of mine for a long time - bringing movement, mindfulness, and nature together in a way that feels immersive, freeing, and deeply grounding.

What is Outdoor Wellbeing NZ?

Outdoor Wellbeing NZ is about stepping beyond studio walls and into the beauty of nature. Our classes combine yoga, Pilates, and movement practices with the calming energy of the outdoors, allowing you to feel more present, connected, and refreshed.

The Silent Disco Headphone Experience

One of the things that makes our classes special is the use of silent disco headphones. These wireless headphones allow you to fully tune in to your teacher’s voice and the accompanying music while remaining connected to the sounds of nature around you. The headphones eliminate background noise, creating an immersive experience where you can truly focus on your breath, movement, and the natural world. We provide all the equipment - just check in, collect your headphones, and enjoy.

Our Regular Classes

We offer a variety of outdoor movement and mindfulness classes at stunning locations across Christchurch:

  • Beach Sound & Flow – Yoga at Sumner Beach

  • Park Sound & Flow – Yoga at Hagley Park

  • Park Pilates – Pilates at Hagley Park

  • Forest Flow – Yoga at Bottle Lake Forest

  • Yoga with the Herd – Yoga in the horse paddocks

  • HIIT (Coming Soon!) – A high-energy movement class, plus more yoga & locations on the way

Each class is designed to enhance your connection to both your body and the natural world, using the environment as part of the practice.
